About Me

Margo Elsayd is a registered and board-certified art therapist and artist whose work explores the intersection of creativity, healing, and embodied experience. She received her BFA with a concentration in sculpture from George Mason University and her Master’s degree in Art Therapy and Counseling from Drexel University
.
During her graduate studies, Margo returned to working with clay and began exploring its therapeutic potential, ultimately writing her thesis on the healing qualities of clay therapy. This experience deepened her understanding of clay not only as an artistic medium, but as a tactile and grounding material that can create space for connection, regulation, and self-expression.
Today, Margo continues to work with clay as both an artist and a form of personal care. Through functional ceramics and handmade jewelry, she uses the repetitive, sensory, and often unpredictable process of working with clay as a way to slow down, reconnect with her body, and nurture her own nervous system. Her work reflects a belief that art does not have to be separate from everyday life or healing—it can be a place for curiosity, play, grounding, and joy.
Margo’s clinical work has spanned the lifespan and a variety of settings, including inpatient rehabilitation, community health, private practice, and trauma-focused care. She currently provides trauma therapy to survivors of sexual abuse through SOAR (Survivors of Abuse in Recovery) and soon will be offering therapy services via her private practice CHS.
